RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (April 18, 2016) – King of the Cage, the leader in casino mixed martial arts entertainment, announced today the main event for the upcoming show at The Meadows Casino in Washington, Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 21, 2016 will be for the Bantamweight World Title featuring current champion Jordan Griffin vs. local favorite Mark “The Pride of Bloomfield” Cherico.
The main event for the 145 lb. Bantamweight Title, will feature current champion Jordan “Native Psycho” Griffin (13-4) from Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Roufusport MMA Academy) against Mark “The Pride of Bloomfield” Cherico (9-1) from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Mark Cherico’s Martial Arts & Fitness Academy). Griffin is one of the top fighters in the sport today and has won his last five fights in impressive fashion, including three title defenses. Cherico, who is making his KOTC debut in his hometown, is one of Pittsburgh’s home grown MMA superstars and was also undefeated (9-0) in his amateur career.
The co-main event in the 145 lb. Bantamweight Division will feature Francis “Mad Dog” Healy from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (The Mat Factory) battling Pedro “El Pistolero” Velasco from Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid MMA/Team No Comment).
This event will be broadcast in over 50 million U.S. households on MAVTV (214 DIRECTV, 810 Verizon FiOS). Check your local cable provider for cable station in your area.
Other fighters scheduled to appear on the card include Justin Steave, Nicole Upshaw, Justin Patton, Ben Suehr, George Niebla, Nate Medice and more.
Doors open at 6 pm. and fights start at 7 pm. Reserve seating and Ringside tickets are on sale now. All Ages welcome. Under 18 must be accompanied by an Adult.
