RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA. (April 23, 2019) – King of the Cage, the leader in casino mixed martial arts entertainment debuts at The Bluewater Amphitheater, located in the BlueWater Resort & Casino in Parker, Arizona on Saturday, May 18, 2019, with a nationally broadcast event headlined by a Welterweight showdown between Wesley Pierce vs. Javahn Matthews. The co-main events will feature Vincent Arredondo vs. Derrick Brown in a Lightweight battle, and Lightweights Ryan Shatto vs. Bryce Callaghan. The featured fight on the card will be Christopher Tahbo vs. Mashonte Mailboy.
Main Event – Welterweight (170 lbs.)
Wesley Pierce, AZ. (Dragon Snake MMA) vs. Javahn Matthews, Portland, OR. (Enso Jiu Jitsu). Pierce, who had an impressive amateur record of 11-1 is making his professional debut. Mathews is also making his pro debut after an amateur career of 5-2.
Co-Main Event – Lightweight (155 lbs.)
Vincent Arredondo, Phoenix, AZ. (The Lab) vs. Derrick “The Sheriff” Brown, Tempe, AZ. (Self-Made Training Facility). Arredondo, who is top ranked, is coming off a first-round victory. Brown is a popular lightweight fighter in the Arizona area, who had a very good amateur record.
Co-Main Event – Lightweight (150 lbs.)
Ryan Shatto, Parker, AZ. (Mixxed Bloodz MMA) vs. Bryce Callaghan, Blythe, CA. (Adrian’s Boxing and Relentless Wrestling). Both are up and coming fighters in the lightweight division.
Featured Event – Super Heavyweight (265 lbs.)
Christopher Tahbo, Parker, AZ. (Mixxed Bloodz MMA) vs. Mashonte Mailboy, Chinle, AZ.
