About Menominee Casino Resort
Menominee Casino Resort in Keshena, Wisconsin is owned and operated by the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin and business conducted through the Menominee Indian Gaming Authority. The Menominee Casino Resort started as a simple bingo hall back in 1982. After the addition of the Las Vegas-style casino in 1987, the casino expanded again throughout the 1990’s with the inclusion of a hotel and Forest Island Restaurant. Today, the resort boasts a 33,000-square-foot casino space containing more that 850 slot machines, 8 blackjack tables, 6 poker tables and 4 table games such as roulette and craps. More recently in 2008-2010, the casino-resort spent 15 months adding even more onto its facility. In addition to remodeling and building more hotel suites, the resort put in a 121,000 gallon swimming pool, whirlpool, steam room, cabana bar and a fitness center. Another big attraction is the resort’s state-of-the-art 13,000 sq. ft. convention center that in total can seat 1,000 people. The conference center comprises a large ballroom that can seat 650 guests or be divided into four smaller meeting rooms, as well as five mid-sized rooms to seat up to 50 people. The center can accommodate events such as wedding receptions, graduation ceremonies to business meetings and trade shows. The renovated hotel and conference center also contains a traditional Menominee Indian decorating motif, which incorporates everything from the use of earth tones to a large bear statue that signifies the origin story of the tribe. The Menominee Casino Resort currently is in the final stages of a renovation which includes a whole new gaming floor for slots and table games, a 24 hour café, a bingo hall that is moved into the old casino space, a new retail division and a state of the art air exchange system. Management states “our customers asked and we delivered a new state of the art gaming floor and air that is due to open around Thanksgiving weekend.
