RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (June 29, 2015) On Saturday, August 22, 2015, King of the Cage returns to Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton, Minnesota for another action-packed evening of MMA action.
The Main Event in the 135 lb. Flyweight Division will feature John “Sexy Mexy” Castaneda from Minneapolis, Minnesota (The Academy) with an impressive professional record of 6-2 going head to head against well- known veteran Joe “The Triangular Strangler” Pearson from Bettendorf, Iowa 46-24-1 (Stranglers Playground). Castaneda is one of the top ranked Flyweights. Except for his first professional bout, no fight in Pearson’s career has gone to decision. Pearson also holds the record for most triangle chokes in mixed martial arts history.
The Co-Main Event in the 155 lb. Lightweight Division will feature Brandon Jenkins from Minneapolis, Minnesota (ATT) doing battle against Troy Wittman from Milwaukee, Wisconsin 2-1 (Roufusport MMA). Jenkins professional record is 5-1 and is one of the top ranked Lightweights.
One of the featured bouts will be in the women’s 130 lb. Flyweight Division where Kathryn Bassignana from Duluth, Minnesota (Lorenzi’s Boxing) will take on Jen Castillo from Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Other fighters appearing on the card include Ben Pierre Saint, Katie Scharmer, Jesse Rogge, Jake Wyman, Eric Johnson, Chris Collins, Curtis Decoteau, Josh Hautajarvi, Dale Walters and more.
