King of the Cage
Fighter Facts
145lb:
Charlie Valencia: 19-0 Record retired this year at age 28 as the undefeated
KOTC World Champion
Uriah Faber: Record 243-3 as a NCAA Division I wrestler and a 2-time runner
up for the National College Champion- ship. He is presently 9-0 in Mixed
Martial Arts and is being called the best pound for pound fighter today. On
the last KOTC PPV in Las Vegas Uriah destroyed Pride's 145lb star Hiroyuki
Abe.
155lb:
Jens Pulver, UFC Champion, who beat B.J. Penn held out with the UFC belt and
took a fight in Canada with Duane Ludwig, who previously had only fought for
KOTC. Pulver was the UFC's star and their last 155lb Champion got knocked
out in 90 seconds into the first round. KOTC has five fights on tape of
Duane Ludwig. Then the UFC stripped Pulver's belt and has not crowned a
155lb Champion since.
170lb:
Matt Hughes is the UFC Champion with only four losses in about 60 fights.
Two of the losses were to Dennis Hallman with both fights over in less then
2 minutes. Hallman was under contract with KOTC for 18 months after his wins
over Hughes. However Hallman only managed to win 1 of his 3 fights in KOTC.
Karo Pariysian is presently becoming a UFC star. He is 4-1 in the UFC and
has won his last 3 fights in the UFC. Pariysian had fought in KOTC
prior to his success in the UFC including his pro debut.
185lb:
Joey Villasenor is the most explosive fighter in the game with a 9-0 record
in his last 9 fights, all by devastating knock outs. The UFC has contacted
him on a monthly basis. The problem for the UFC is Villasenor has an 18
month
exclusive contract with KOTC and the only competitive 185lb fighter is with
Pride. Villasenor is the master of the one punch knock out!
Diego "Nightmare" Sanchez who was the star of the Ultimate Fighter T.V. show
and the Champion. Diego was 8-0 in KOTC and only fought for KOTC before
dominating everyone he faced in the Ultimate Fighter tournament. He is now
being marketed by the UFC as the "Nightmare".
Look for the King of the Cage one hour Pay Per View special "Ultimate
Nightmare" in September 2005 featuring all Sanchez's fights.
205lb:
King of the Cage has produced Quinton Jackson (5 fights on tape), Forrest
Griffin, (Ultimate fighter TV Champion), (2 fights on tape), and Undefeated
KOTC World Champion Australian Tony Bonello, who is on the cover of two
Mixed Martial Arts magazines, now. Also Jeremy Horn, who has never been
exclusive with KOTC, has fought 3 times with KOTC in the last two years.
Horn is fighting UFC Champion Chuck Liddell for the UFC 205lb World Title in
an upcoming show. (Bet on Horn)
Quinton Jackson continues to be a main draw for Pride after knocking out the
present 205lb UFC Champion Chuck Liddell, former UFC Champion Kevin
Randleman, and Murillo Bustamante. (Beat 3 UFC Title holders in the last 2
years. Also Dean Lister who won the Jui Jitsu World Title while he was with
KOTC (7 Fights on Tape)
HVY:
Former KOTC World Champion Ricco Rodriguez (3 fights on tape) leaves KOTC to
go 3-0 in Pride and win the UFC Heavyweight World title. Rodriguez also won
the Jui Jitsu Worlds while with KOTC.
Tim Silva barely squeaked out a win in KOTC before going onto winning the
UFC Heavyweight World Title belt. (Tim will be on a one hour KOTC special in
July)
Present KOTC World Heavyweight Champion Paul Buentello (6 fights on tape)
has won both his UFC fights, both within the last 4 months and both early in
the first round. Justin Eilers the guy he beat in two minutes of the first
round, fought for the title in the last UFC show, got knocked out by Paul 3
months prior, in a first round KO. Buentello looks like he will be fighting
on the next KOTC Pay Per View show.
Super HVY:
Daniel Bobish, Jimmy Ambriz, Bob Sapp, Eric Pele, Dan Christianson, and
Scary Jerry are among the top super heavyweights in the World. Five of the
Six Fighters have been under exclusives with KOTC in the last two years. (21
fights on tape) KOTC is the only organization with a true super heavyweight
division.
Also UFC has brought 3 fighters to their show in the last year; Edwin Dewees,
Nate Quarry, and Mike Kyle. These fighters have a combined 0-7 record in
KOTC. I believe they already have 3 wins in the UFC.
In conclusion King of the Cage fighters are a combined 9-3 in the last 4 UFC
shows. Pride fighters who have come to the US to fight for KOTC are a
combined 4-8.
King of the Cage combines top World class fighters with different styles and
characters like Thomas "The Wildman" Denny, Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett,
and Jeff "Karate Man" Newton. Creating an option to a Prototype Show, were
almost every fighter looks like a wrestler with cauliflower ears and a
shaved head. The building of characters along with some of the top fighters
in the World and the only show with a true super heavyweight division has
given King of the Cage a dominating edge in truly producing entertainment
for the fans!
We have to remember that this is a business and should be entertaining for
the Fans.
